He stood by his scheme, and he grinned a sly smile.
“It’s so fun to be mean, all this plotting worthwhile.
Oh Rudolph, so wild, but simply too cool.
And Buddy, a child, so easy to fool.
Little Claus and the elf, too dumb, and too dry.”
He said to himself, with a gleam in his eye.
So he cricked all the cracks, in his green Grinchy hands
And he set to enact his most naughty Grinch plans.

THE STORY: Being interested in the paranormal, you follow a number of local forums and internet channels dedicated to the topic. Earlier today a cryptic message was posted online which read:
“Threat Level Delta. Assistance required. All able and willing paranormal investigators should meet me at 1503 4th Street SW, tonight. Those fearful should know, your absence will not protect you.”
You saw the message was posted by a Jane Fonda, Paranormal Investigator Level 3. More curious than concerned, and unaware of what Threat Level Delta entails, you decide to gather your friends and join her. Surely something of interest will happen this evening.
ABOUT THE LOCATION: Originally built in the 1920s, Davidson House served as a funeral home for much of its existence, only decommissioning and reopening as The Rose & Crown Pub in 1986. Seeing as thousands of cremations and funerals would have been performed inside, it is not surprising that there have been several reports of ghosts haunting the facility…
We’re calling our Season 3 rooms “theatrical escape games” because they are going to involve a large cast of characters, most of whom you’ll need to interact with during the game to succeed. There will also be certain points in the game where a scene may play out, and you’ll need to pay attention to understand what’s going on. But basically, you’re still solving puzzles, unfurling the mystery and either winning or losing depending on how you do as a team.
Large-scale events are events where multiple teams can play separately but simultaneously. Our Halloween event had up to 10 teams playing at once, and our Christmas event will host up to 9. Every team will have its own table and have its own opportunities to explore different areas and talk to the cast. It’s a lot of fun, and really is the best way to see who’s smarter if you have a group of friends you’d like to compete against.
As a large-scale event (see above), there will be multiple teams playing simultaneously, but each team will playing individually. Don’t worry, with 15+ rooms to spread out across, this is more like an escape mansion than your typical escape room.
For our Christmas event, the game has been designed for groups of 6-8, so groups of 6+ will not be paired up with others. Teams of 2-5 might be paired up with a second small group, or they might not be.
If you head to the bookings page you will see that tickets for teams of 6+ are available for the discounted price of $49.95 plus GST. If you’re having trouble on the website we can also help you out over the phone.
Our number is 403-903-9162.
For our Halloween event, food and drinks will be available for purchase.
For our Christmas event, there will be a cash bar where alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. No food will be served.
The Christmas event is intended for those aged 12+.
Note: those aged 12-14 must be accompanied by a responsible (game playing) adult.
The quick answer is mostly yes. Please give us a call for full details, and so that we know if you are planning on attending.
For our Christmas event, we suggest a semi-formal attire. This is a fancy location and you should try to match it. Just make sure your shoes are comfortable because it’s a large venue and there will be lots of walking around.
Of course, we know there’s going to be that one group that’s looking for a reason to wear their ugly Christmas sweaters. Don’t worry, you can come too.
The event will run for five days: Dec 26th – 30th.
December 26th showtimes are 3:00 and 7:30.
December 27th – 30th showtimes are 4:30 and 7:45.
Note: the doors will open at the times booked. Please ensure your team is showing up within 15 minutes of these times. The game will begin shortly thereafter.
Aww, shucks. The quick answer is yes and no. That event was targeted at a more hard-core puzzling population, and we really wanted to challenge your brain power on every single puzzle. Our Season 3 events will certainly be challenging, but are targeted to a more general demographic. Basically this is a cross between that event and our Season 2 escapes.
Don’t worry, it won’t be too easy, but it also won’t be impossibly hard.
